Merin Guthrie Development Manager Merin joined Cultural Development Corporation (CuDC) November 2006 and is responsible for a range of development activities including annual fundraising, overseeing special events and supporting the $3.5M Source Campaign. A native of Southern California, Merin has a background in art history and arts administration. Prior to joining CuDC, Merin served as the gallery manager at International Visions—The Gallery in Washington, DC. As gallery manager, Merin oversaw day to day operations as well as organized special events, conducted sales, directed marketing and advertising efforts and managed correspondence with artists and clients. Merin has held various positions in the arts and fundraising fields. In her capacity as an assistant at the Adelson Galleries in New York, she conducted research and provided support for the gallery’s Mary Cassatt Catalogue Raisonné Committee. During her time at Galería Kreisler in Madrid, Spain, she served as a gallery assistant and oversaw a project to fully catalogue the gallery’s past exhibitions. Merin earned a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College with honors in History and a concentration in Art History. She co-chairs Davidson’s DC Young Alumni Chapter with her husband Will and serves on the board of YNPNdc, a local nonprofit that promotes a healthy nonprofit sector by supporting the growth, learning and development of young professionals. |
