Karyn Miller
Program Manager
Visual Arts

Karyn Miller joined CuDC in June 2007 as the Manager of Visual Arts and Communications. She is responsible for the management of the artist selection and recruitment process in the Flashpoint Gallery, as well as the coordination of the gallery’s advisory panel. Karyn works closely with artists to provide guidance and incubation for each exhibition in the Gallery. She served as CuDC’s Manager of Communications until August 2008 and oversaw all marketing and publicity for CuDC and spearheaded the organization’s strategic marketing initiative. In September 2008, Karyn began working on the Creative Communities Initiative (CCI) which provides funding and capacity-building support for individual artists.

Karyn came to CuDC from Conner Contemporary Art, where she was the Gallery Director. In her five years with Conner Contemporary, she organized and installed numerous exhibitions, reviewed submissions, liaised with clients and media, curated select exhibitions and oversaw publications. Karyn was instrumental in the creation of *gogo art projects, a Conner Contemporary initiative devoted to incubating emerging and experimental artists. Karyn previously interned at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden under the Curator of Painting and in the Education Department of the Carnegie Museum of Art.

A native of Avella, Pennsylvania, Karyn graduated with honors from The Catholic University of America with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, during which she studied abroad in Rome, Italy.
