Jenny Stone is struggling — with a new school, a new town, her mother’s departure and a secret tragedy. When she’s exposed to the tropes of fairy tales, she uncovers a way to deal with the tragedy that haunts her.

This performance is part of the “Ethereal Encounters” theme of shows in this year’s Festival.Encounters from the mundane to the mysterious can hold surprising consequences. A girl suffering under the weight of a family tragedy is drawn into a fairy tale universe where she encounters child-eating witches, giants, wolves and her own salvation. An American businesswoman makes a harrowing discovery on a Tokyo subway and a group of slackers are changed forever by the baffling voice inside a peculiar wooden box. Make astounding and unsettling discoveries in the “Ethereal Encounters” that mark this group of plays.
