Luce Artist Talks, a partnership between the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Luce Foundation Center and CulturalDC, feature local artists in the visual and performing arts. Each month, artists share their artistic process and recent projects while highlighting the artists and artworks in the museum’s collection that inspire them.

This month, Danielle Scruggs will discuss the inspirations, motivations and process behind her work in Migrations. The exhibition focuses on The Great Migration and a shared cultural experience that Scruggs explores through her own family history.
