Mead Theatre Lab Program

Each fall, artists and emerging arts organizations submit proposals for projects to be presented in the Mead Theatre Lab, 60-seat black box theatre at Flashpoint. A panel of theatre professionals recommends three to five projects to be presented each season. Selected artists receive up to five weeks of free space, mentorship from panel members and marketing and production support.

The Mead Theatre Lab Program has helped to launch the careers of some of Washington’s most exciting arts organizations including Helen Hayes award winners Taffety Punk and Factory 449 and Helen Hayes Award nominees Dog & Pony DC. For information about the Mead Theatre Lab Program, .

We are no longer currently accepting proposals for our 2013-14 Season.

If you’ve submitted a proposal, select applicants will be invited (notification by early 2013) to interview with the Mead Theatre Lab Program Advisory Panel. Artists selected for the 2013-14 Season will be notified in the Spring of 2013.

Programming for the Mead Theatre Lab Program is recommended by an advisory panel including: Michael Bobbitt, Pete Miller, Alexe Nowakowski and Deb Sivigny.
